Hurricane Ida update, September 15, 2021

During our one hundred and eleven year history, First American has weathered wars, storms, an ongoing pandemic and now Hurricane Ida. It’s been a little over two weeks since Hurricane Ida made landfall. Through the amazing dedication and teamwork of our management team and our employees, First American Bank was able to open ten of our twenty-five offices within two days of the storm. The following days, another thirteen offices opened with the final two offices opening at the beginning of this week.

Ten of our twenty-five offices suffered damage with the main office in Vacherie being the most damaged as part of the roof was torn off. The roof has been repaired, demolition work is complete and remodeling has already begun. Work has also begun at the offices that have suffered damage. We will remain open at all offices during the rebuilding process.

At First American, decisions are made locally by local people who care… We are here for you, our neighbors and our customers, who have been affected by Ida.
